Your Complete Guide to Fourth of July Outfits for 2018

Here’s exactly what to wear to celebrate our nation’s birthday.

I know that the Fourth of July is still a couple weeks away, but it is never too early to start planning your outfits. People do a lot on this holiday. For instance, there’s always an outdoor activity involved with my family: Last year we had a big picnic and all the cousins ended up in a huge game of kickball before watching the fireworks. So much fun! 

Depending on what your plans are for the day, you’re going to need a variety of fourth of July outfits to choose from. Let me help you out. 

(By the way, I’m really aiming to add as many bandanas to these outfits as I can — bandanas are one of my favorite summer trends. Let’s see how I do.)

Fourth of July Outfits 2018 – Outfit #1:

Products: Dress – Nordstrom, Shoes – Shopbop, Belt Bag – Nordstrom, Earrings – Shopbop 

A t-shirt dress is such a simple outfit, but you can totally accessorize and dress it up or down as much as you want. The slides here give it a super casual vibe, but the drop earrings are a tad more dramatic to give the outfit a nice balance.

Fourth of July Outfits 2018 – Outfit #2:

Products: Jeans – Nordstrom, Bodysuit – Madewell, Shoes – Nordstrom, Purse – Bloomingdales, Bandanas – Nordstrom Rack

I love this outfit! Imagine yourself on a boat somewhere, perhaps in the Hamptons. Couldn’t you see yourself wearing something like this? Bodysuit + wide leg white jeans + sandals = easy breezy summer style.

This is definitely not an outfit to play kickball in like I did last year. The white jeans are not the most appropriate. They would be great for a regular barbecue or day spent walking around town and watching the parade.

Fourth of July Outfits 2018 – Outfit #3:

I really wish I had this outfit myself: I’m still trying to decide what I want to wear this year and I think this might be my look. Light wash jeans a white top form my favorite summer outfit combination. It’s obviously a great way to stay cool and it’s very timeless. Finish with cool accessories like suede flats and a trendy woven purse.

Fourth of July Outfits 2018 – Outfit #4:

See my point? Another light wash denim and white top combo. I’ve honestly had this top in my shopping cart for about a week now. (What are your thoughts? Should I get it?)

This is a great outfit to wear all summer long. Straight leg jeans are comfortable for busy days, and they’re very of-the-moment. Meanwhile, a simple white blouse is suitable if you need to dress up the denim a bit. Like I said, I don’t know what your plans are, so this is a good all-purpose outfit for the fourth.

I love mini dresses as much as the next person, but something about midi dresses makes me feel really regal and poised. I knew I wanted to do another outfit with a dress and when I saw this red midi dress, I couldn’t pass it up. I accessorized it with a chic white patterned scarf, bucket bag, and studded espadrilles.
