It’s 2016, so we know that pink isn’t just for girls and blue isn’t just for guys. And yet we still think of these two hues as opposites. IMHO, though, they’re actually totally fab when worn together.

Bright jewel tones, like Blue Ivy and Solange are rocking above, are especially cool and complimentary. And if you’ve got blue eyes, they really make your peepers pop. But blue and pink in other forms, like pastels, or navy and light pink, look really pretty together, too.

Lately, I’ve really liked wearing these colors together, be it in a single piece or by putting a multicolored look together. Designers like Tanya Taylor, Delpozo, Markus Lupfur, and Mary Katrantzou dig it, too.

Check out these three pink and blue outfit ideas for tips on how to start combining these shades in your OOTDs.

Outfit #1: Colorblocking

Products: Sweater, Dress, Heels, Necklace.

Colorblocking is a fun and easy way to experiment with mixing colors with pieces you probably already have in your closet. A skater dress in one shade and a cardi in the other are a (mis)match made in heaven.

You could do a similar version of this look with other separates, like a hot pink sweater tucked into blue pants or a blue tee and a pink skirt.  However you create your colorblocked ensemble, I recommend a sturdy, neutral shoe, like these cute mary jane heels.

You can add some more colors into the mix if you want. I love that this statement necklace adds little pops of other colors like yellow and teal, while not stealing the spotlight from the dress and sweater’s contrast.

Outfit #2: Both colors in one piece

Products: Shirt, Jeans, Flats, Earrings.

There’s probably no easier way to rock this color combo than in a cute and cozy plaid shirt featuring both pink and blue. Just add your fave jeans, flats, and cute jewelry.

You could also wear this shirt as a pop of fun in an all-neutral outfit, like with a navy skirt or a black blazer and skinnies. It would also be cool (and super on-trend) under a bomber jacket that is also pink or blue (or both!).

Outfit #3: Dressy

Products: Dress, Heels, Clutch, Earrings.

If you live somewhere warm enough to wear this look to a holiday party, 1. I’m jealous, and 2. DO IT. I mean, florals? For winter? Actually groundbreaking. I love them all year round.

I love how the super-feminine light pink pops against conservative navy. The look is classic yet fresh, especially when you pick heels made of the season’s it-material, velvet. Add a satin clutch and major earrings, and you’re ready to hit the town with no room for the blues.

What do you think?

Do you like the way pink and blue look together?  Have you made an outfit combining the two?  Which of these looks is your fave?  Let me know in the comments!
