Style Challenge: Try Out the Latest Fall Trends
New semester, new trends.
As we all know, one of the best things about a new season is the new fashion trends!
I could spend hours reading articles predicting what styles we’ll be seeing next (especially when I’m supposed to be studying). And don’t even get me started on New York Fashion week — I’m already planning my wardrobe for spring.
This week, I want to encourage you to identify a few trends on your campus, the runways (here’s Vogue’s recap of the Fall 2017 shows) or from some of your favorite bloggers and try to incorporate them into your outfits!
Below, I’ve picked six totally wearable trends for fall and combined them into three outfits. See the outfit sets below for inspiration:
Fall Trend Outfit 1: Wrap Dress and Chunky Heels

Wrap dresses and skirts have been popping up everywhere lately and they are both super cute and super flattering — win, win! This cream printed one is perfect for early fall.
I paired it with some black chunky heels which are also super on-trend. Thick heeled shoes like this are especially great since they tend to be more comfortable to walk in.
To finish this look off, I added some tassel earrings in dark green to bring in a little color and another fun trend.
Fall Trend 2: Lariat Necklace and OTK Boots

Over the knee boots are still going strong this fall. I personally love this trend and I’m so glad it’s sticking around for a while.
The choker trend is also still around, but I’ve seen this lariat style necklace even more frequently on campus. It’s a really cute take on the trend and goes with a lot of different necklines.
For the rest of this outfit, I chose a black sweater with cutout details and paired it all with a classic pair of skinny jeans.
Fall Trend 3: Fringe and Skorts

Skorts are coming back and I am here for it. I’ve been waiting for these to come back into style since elementary school! They’re just so practical. For this outfit, I paired this pretty and versatile green wrap skort with a sleeveless ivory top.
For accessories, I added a brown fringe bag (also trending right now!) and chunky ankle boots. This is the perfect comfy outfit for class; it’s perfect for days when it’s a little warmer than usual.
