Get in those last-chance summer adventures while you can!

As the weather has turned from hot, to hotter, to hottest I realize that can only mean one thing: it’s almost time for satan to take us back to his fiery lair (ick school time!!!)

The worst part?

I have spent my summer doing the LEAST a.k.a. sleeping, eating, and working.

So, here’s to the end of summer lighting a fire under my booty and hopefully yours too!

Here are 10 last chance, last minute things to do before summer is over:

1. Spend Time Outside

Before long, you will be back in the classroom getting headaches from those awful fluorescent lights bulbs, so take advantage of Mother Nature’s radiant warmth before it’s too late.

Take long walks, go on picnics, or spend a day at the beach. Breathe in the warmth with a smile on your face.

2. Throw an Impromptu BBQ

All you need is some good food, some good music, and some great friends!

3. Go on a Food Adventure

Speaking of good food, why not take to the streets and discover something yummy to eat?

To me, that means putzing around Smorgasburg in Brooklyn, going on a food tour in Greenwich Village, or just trying out that new restaurant on 5th.

So try a new cuisine or make the trip to that bakery you’ve been dying to go to. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

4. Play Hooky

Okay, I do not usually condone lying, but sometimes faking sick is totally worth it.

Take a break from your busy day-to-day schedule. Spend it at a water park, a spa, or the beach instead.

After all, summer is about carefree fun in the sun. (At least until you are FORCED to enter corporate America, so take advantage of your fearless youth!!)

5. Channel Your Inner Tyra

Explore around town and find cool places for photoshoots. Take pictures with your girlfriends, make great memories, and update your social media accounts with some fire snaps.

6. Get into a Good Book

Before reading becomes a hassle, check out a new book or series for some light, non-academic reading.

I just finished Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn and absolutely LOVED it! The best part? It’s now an HBO miniseries that I will be spending the rest of my summer binge-watching.

7. Catch a Sunrise and a Sunset

Take in the earth’s beauty before summer is over. Catching a good sunrise and sunset is good for the soul — not to mention your Instagram feed!

8. Throw an Epic Girls Night

Epic girls nights are a staple for any season, but my favorite nights out are definitely summer nights out.

Go for margarita/taco Tuesday, hit up a karaoke bar, and finish the night with a classic movie-sleepover combo. Nights with your girls under the summer lights make for great fun and even greater memories.

9. Rock Your Summer Frocks Before It’s Too Late

Break out your best cut-offs, backless tops, and summer dresses. Spend a week rocking all of your favorite summer pieces before it’s sweater weather season.

10. Find a Great End of Summer Sale

Though summer is coming to a close *cries softly into my bathing suit* there is one silver lining: end of summer sales!

Take this time to revamp your wardrobe and decide the fashion persona you will be taking on this year.

Just a heads up, a few of my favorite places are having great sales right now: Topshop, Urban Outfitters, and Forever 21. With a little luck (and less moolah) you are sure to score some great finds!

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, but that will never stop me from wanting more summer!

I want to hear from you in the comments below!

How are you spending your last few weeks of summer? What are your favorite last minute activities? What was your favorite part about this summer so far?
